With his humble beginnings on a plantation in Epps, Louisiana, Supt Woodrow Davis accepted his call into the ministry in 1985. As a faithful servant under the leadership of Supt. Charles Stevenson, Supt Davis was a devoted servant of The Lord assisting his leader to build both Choudrant and Bethel COGIC. Superintendent Davis’ labor of love for the souls of mankind did not go unnoticed. Bishop Roy L. H. Winbush looked out into the flock and in 1992 chose Elder Woodrow Davis to lead the Haynesville District. With Superintendent Davis at the helm, the Haynesville district has become a model district. Supt. Davis is a visionary leader and knows how to inspire others to share his vision. Faithfully serving as a leader after the heart of God, Supt Davis is the Pastor of Springlake COGIC, Turning Point Ministries COGIC, where he equips and empowers his parishioners to be a more effective witness for Christ and provides spiritual nourishment for the “Whole Man.” Superintendent Davis has honorably served the Louisiana 1st Jurisdiction in many facets of ministry. He has previously served as the Jurisdictional Mission Department President and was instrumental in establishing the Love Alive Campus ministry on the campus of Northeast Louisiana University. He is presently the Jurisdictional Treasurer and Chairman of the Louisiana First Jurisdiction Economic Development Coalition. Supt Davis received a liberal arts degree in 1973 and a Master’s degree in Substance Abuse Counseling in 2003 from Northeast Louisiana University. He is a Licensed Real Estate Broker and owner of Davis Realty, Inc. of Monroe, La. and a retiree of the General Motors Cooperation in 2006 after 32 years of service. He is the husband of 42 years to Missionary Gloria Davis. They have one daughter, Kia Davis, and two granddaughters, Laila and Kaydance Davis. He is a man that loves family and understands the importance of being A Godly example in the home as well as in the church.
